our brown is beautiful

I didn’t plan to make this space political. In fact, I wanted to keep it as fun and safe as the blog title I chose suggests. But, especially recently, it has become increasingly difficult for me to do that. And while I choose to retreat to my sparkly corner of the interwebs, away from news headlines and iPhone video footage, some things can’t be left unsaid. I’ll keep it short [but please reach out if you want to continue this conversation].

So here goes-

This is an ode to us. To my brothers and sisters. To me.
A reminder that our brown is beautiful.
One more time-our brown is beautiful.

Because I’ve needed to remind myself that more often recently. And I wanted to remind you too.

That’s all.
You are beautiful.
And you do matter.
