I have been having my hand at a New York City summer. We've been eating, laughing, drinking, dancing, running, smiling, cooking, walking— living. There are, of course, the highlight reel memories-the big memories that you won’t forget, but more and more I’ve been taking note of the little memories. The little memories that if you blink you just might miss. Memories that I want to file away and save for later so that I don’t forget. Memories that would certainly serve as a pick me up for my future self. 

And then I thought, what better place to file away these memories and share them with you!  

So here goes, in no particular order:

1. The immediate mood boost when an absolute stranger compliments you on your shoes, your outfit, your eye makeup - whatever it may be! An ever present reminder to always pass along the compliment to that girl wearing those shoes, that outfit, that makeup that you love too!

2. The crispness of a fresh, new, white t-shirt

3. The walk back home after a really great Saturday morning run. The best part? You still have the rest of the day [and weekend] ahead of you

4. When you take a look at the time and spontaneously decide to get another round

5. Sleeping with no alarm so that your body can just rest

6. Sitting at the bar where you met Syd, who has been bartending for 9 years in West Village and also doesn’t know what to do about the absurd NYC rent prices 

7. That very first bite into a really, really good burger

8. The way the light hits the row of historic brownstones on your block on a breezy summer’s day

9. A good belly laugh at a great joke –even if it’s at a line in a show that you may or may not have already seen [and laughed at] before

10. Holding hands with your favorite person

11. The wagging tails of the happiest of doggies at the dog park 

12. When you finish a really good book- even more precious after finishing a really bad one 

13. That feeling of getting home after a long day out and feeling so grateful that you get to call this place home
