Each year on my birthday, I think back on everything that has happened over the last year- a kind of EOY review, if you will. I spent some time rereading some of my past birthday posts- 3 to be exact, since starting this sparkly corner on the internet (23, 24, 25). And it’s so incredible to see how much of a snapshot each of the posts are into who I was and what I was thinking at that exact moment in time. I can actively see myself growing and becoming the person I am now at 26. Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that I had no idea where the path would lead me year after year, so to watch it all play out is quite remarkable. But that’s the thing about time, I guess.

In many ways, I think 25 sped by because so much has happened in the last year. It was such a year of transition- moving back to New York from San Francisco [which I sometimes still pinch myself about], starting a new role at YouTube, moving into my first NYC apartment [might I add in West Village], C moving out to NYC not too long after and getting his place, and so so much more change. I shared with you all that a couple of weeks ago Grandma passed on and is at peace.

So much of 26 feels like the beginning of stability. I resigned my lease for 2 more years [no more moving, hallelujah], and C plans to resign his lease as well. C signed a new job with a new company here in NYC, something he’s been wanting to do for a while [instead of working remote with his team in Cali, more on this later!], and I’m thinking about the best next step for me.

All in all, I am super excited for what’s to come. So here’s to twenty six-- to keeping my feet firmly planted, to new beginnings, and to always going after the dreams we’ve always believed in.
