Another year around the sun. How blessed am I? 

My birthday means a lot of things to me. Not only do I get to revel in all the love that comes my way on my special day, and plan a shoot in a special outfit for these annual posts, but I also get to sit back and use these instances as a moment of self reflection. 

27 was an important year for me with various milestones. I made it through another year of remote work [I know many of you feel me on this one], I started working with my life coach to help tackle some big questions and challenges [thank you, A], and, of course, I moved in with C. 

But I am also really excited for 28. Similar to my sentiments and intentions around this new year, I am excited to move forward into a new chapter. And so, I decided to kick off this new chapter by taking my first international trip since October 2019! We’re headed to Playa del Carmen.

What’s in Playa del Carmen? Sun, warmth, relaxation, oh, and as serendipity would have it, so is a dear friend. The path to Playa was not necessarily easy [insert PSA to check your passport expiry dates now] but we made it :)

Here’s to more adventures, more fun, more warmth, and, of course, more sparkle!

But perhaps more importantly, prior to this quarantine, we were all moving a little too fast. So when this is all over, because yes this too shall pass, I hope that we’ll all continue to stop and smell the [tulips].

So while this birthday does look different--no big dinner at a fabulous restaurant with my closest group of girlfriends, no big party at my apartment, bringing all my friends from all parts of my life together, it doesn’t mean I’m any less loved. It just means we’ll have to ring in 28 with an even bigger bang!!
