real talk.

real talk: grandpa's homegoing

I feel very strongly about sharing all aspects of life here, not just the sparkly ones. t’s with a heavy heart that I share that Grandpa has passed away. I shared before how close my grandparents and I were, specifically with Grandma, and now I get to share some of my favorite memories with Grandpa.

real talk: stay well! stay home!

I think it can be easy to get lost in the gloom and doom of the headlines [and not for naught; this is a serious situation and we should be treating it as such]. But I also think, per my glass half full philosophy, that we can also take the time that has been given back to so many of us and use it as an opportunity. I must acknowledge that I recognize that everyone's situation is different [not everyone can easily work from home, some industries are being hit harder than others, same goes for demos of people, etc.] So I am speaking from my personal experience.

real talk: grandma's homegoing

Something about the passing of Grandma followed almost immediately by the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and the 7 other passengers aboard that helicopter has put so many things into perspective. Probably most of all: time is oh so precious. That thing that you’ve been wanting to say, try, do, not do- do it. [More on this later.]

real talk: life is so real.

And that’s life. Life is so real. It’s this winding crazy journey and no one really knows how to “win”, but we do our best. So that’s exactly what I’m doing, doing my best.

Real Talk: Goodbye, San Francisco

My relationship with SF has had its highs and its lows from the very beginning; I’ve talked about that a lot here, and after 2 ½ years I’m ready to say goodbye. So I decided to write a letter to put into words the journey I’ve had over the last 2+ years. What follows is pretty personal and honest. These are my opinions as a result of my own personal experiences and  in no way do I mean to discourage others or come off as negative. I’m just keeping it real.

real talk: i got hacked on instagram--this is how i got my account back

I’m writing this post in hopes that if ever a blogger’s worst nightmare comes true (and I pray that it doesn't) that this could help you. When I didn’t know where to turn or what to do, my google searches eventually lead me to a blogger’s post similar to this, and that was how I managed to unlock my account.

real talk: it’s been a rough couple of weeks

A lot has also been going through my mind as of late, and I feel like there hasn’t been a good place for me to share all of those thoughts with you. So with that, I’d like to launch real talk. real talk will be a new corner on the blog for us to, well, talk. For some time now, I’ve wanted to create another place for conversation that sometimes doesn’t necessarily pair well with sartorial photos.
