I guess I have to thank social media even though I deleted snapchat [because 1. Team Instagram Stories all day but also 2. I needed more space on my phone and snap just had to go] and I haven’t seen a Facebook news feed in months [like since January 20th to be precise], but the few Instagram posts that I did see told me that it was Spring Fling weekend at Penn. [Shoutout to SPEC because a Zedd & Tinashe lineup is pretty lit.]

It got me thinking about my Spring Fling weekend senior year. I actually didn’t attend the concert at Penn [no disrespect to Chance the Rapper. I’m going to see him perform tomorrow.] Instead, 3 of my best friends and I rented a car and drove a couple hours from Penn to Brown for their Spring Weekend to see Fetty Wap [it was incredible, btw.] We then drove back to Penn the next day to enjoy the rest of the weekend with the rest of our friends, on our campus, one last time.

Funnily enough this weekend, I again found myself in a rented car with my closest friends but this time, instead of traveling to Providence it was to Monterrey [yes like in Big Little Lies- which if you haven’t seen yet, what have you been doing with your life?]  We were there for a food and wine festival hosted by Food & Wine magazine. No words could explain the incredible food by world renowned chefs that I ate -like caviar atop smoked salmon and biscuit- or the glasses and glasses [and glasses] of sparkling wine, champagne and rosé that I drank. It was a fabulous weekend.

I wonder where I’ll be this time next year. Maybe still in San Francisco? Or maybe, if the stars align, living abroad in some fabulous city and on another weekend trip with a different group of fabulous friends in, let’s say Paris [because Paris is fabulous.]
