a good 'different'

How is everyone doing? Feeling? Being? [If you’re reading you’re fam to me so always feel like you can message me here or leave a comment down below if you just want to chat] Since we last spoke, so much has developed during these uncertain times, including an extension through the end of April of shelter in place here in the US. For me, this is just now starting to feel like the new normal as opposed to this novel thing, and I’ll be honest, adapting to this new everyday is a journey.

In an effort to try and make that journey a little easier for myself [and I hope you too], I started a weekly series called the #thelittlethings rounding up some of my favorite things bringing me joy. [You can find them here and here on Instagram]. With us slowing down, I just started noticing things that I didn’t pay much attention to before, but, of course, were always there!

With the extra time, I also have more time to create. And while sticking indoors is definitely a new constraint, it has forced me to be creative in ways I hadn’t thought of before. Going out on fire escapes [again, was always there!], using props, looking at fabric and lighting differently, playing with shades of makeup I haven’t ever touched [white eyeliner anybody?], and the list goes on.

I hope to continue experimenting and creating during this time not only because it brings me joy but also because I hope it gives you a slice of normalcy, or maybe a world to get lost in, even if for just a minute. Shooting this [thank you, C] felt so different for so many reasons, but in many ways a good ‘different’; one that excites me to continue trying new things and sharing with you along the way.

Last thing before I go, I’d love to know what you think and am open to any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions as I continue experimenting. [And I would be remiss if I didn't say stay well; stay home!]
