Have you ever been on a trip that just felt like a dream? Like it was exactly what you were looking for? What your soul needed? That’s what I found in Hawaii. This was my first time there. It’s been on my “Things to do while I live on the West Coast” list for quite some time, and I’m so happy that I was able to check this one off the list. What else is on the list you ask? Seattle, Vancouver, and Tokyo are the big ones!

The boyfriend and I spent 7 sunny days on the island of Oahu. We stayed on Waikiki Beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. My favorite part? Our room had a balcony with the most beautiful of views overlooking the beach. Even more, a fellow Googler who grew up in Oahu had a spreadsheet of every.single.thing. you could possibly ask for when travelling to a new city -from dinner spots and brunch places, to hikes and trails...literally everything. We used that spreadsheet like a bible to guide us all around the island.  [If anyone is ever heading to Oahu, hit me up; this spreadsheet will change your life.]

It’s so simple, but want to know what I especially loved about Hawaii? The weather. Having lived in the Bay Area for coming up on 2 years [isn’t that crazy?], I feel like I haven’t had a real summer in ages.  What’s a real summer, you ask? A summer with heat that makes you sweat, when a tall iced coffee really hits the spot, when you can slip on your favorite summer dress and some slides and walk out the door. Feel me? For those of you who are less familiar, San Francisco is a consistent sunny [with a mix of clouds and fog] and 65 throughout the entire year. So it was a real treat to dawn these dresses.

You’ve seen this yellow number before, back here when my family and I traveled to Costa Rica 2 years ago [I still love it clearly]. And this striped tweed gem, is a new addition, a Banana Republic number too, off course. [it's actually on sale here right now!] So, yes, 2 sundresses both Banana Republic and both with pockets [literally clutch].

I feel very grateful to be able to take a trip like this, and had the best of time spending a couple of days away with a very special someone. You can see more from my trip [and yes, that special someone] on my Instagram Highlights.
